Robert Edward Myers
Robert Edward Myers, 96, loving husband of 67 years to Edna Winters Myers of Hamden, passed away Sept. 4, 2014 in CT Hospice after a brief illness. He was born in Bridgeport, June 26, 1918, a son of the late Frederick and Emma Pearl Schwartz Myers and served in the US Navy during WW II. He was employed at the Geometric Tool Co. as a machinist for many years prior to his retirment in 1982. Father of Charlotte J. Lassen and her husband Richard of Hamden and Creighton E. Myers and his wife Karan of Cheshire. Grandfather of Beth (Paul) Anthony of Hamden, Melissa (Steven) Cavanaugh of Ansonia, Emily (Timothy) Morrison of Hollis. NH, and Haley Myers of New Haven. Great-grandfather of Jared & Elizabeth Cavanaugh, and Jake Anthony. Robert was predeceased by his siblings Ruth Evis, Fenner, George, Howard and Wesley Myers. Friends may visit with his family Sunday evening Sept. 7 from 4-7 pm at BEECHER & BENNETT, 2300 WHITNEY AVE., HAMDEN. Interment in Centerville Cemetery will be private. We got to know Robert at the end of his life; his daughter Charlotte and her husband Richard provided supreme care to him in their home in his final years; it was a tribute of honor and respect and love. It was wonderful to witness; Robert lived a good and fruitful live – evidence is his family’s love and devotion.
