Robert John Schipritt
Meriden - Robert John Schipritt, 82, of 355 Cook Ave., died Wednesday, June 25, 2003 at Masonicare in Wallingford. He was the husband of Genevieve Byczynski Schipritt. Born in Meriden, May 11, 1921, he was the son of the late Frank and Martha Finnance Schipritt. Serving in the U.S. Army during World War II, he was a member of the 336th Engineer Combat Battalion, 5th Engineer Special Brigade and a veteran of the D-Day invasion on Omaha Beach. Until his retirement he was employed as an inspector at New Departure. Besides his wife, he is survived by a son, Robert M. Schipritt of Glastonbury; two daughters and sons-in-law, Patricia and Ronald O'Neto of Glastonbury and Lisa and James Bissonnette of Meriden; four brothers, Frank Schipritt of Charleston, RI, Raymond Schipritt of Meriden, George Schipritt of Florida and Edward Schipritt of Meriden; three sisters, Rita Flanagan of Wethersfield, Gertrude Skwara of Wethersfield and Dolores Randall of Meriden; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a sister, Mae Sehl. The funeral will be held Saturday at 9 a.m. from BEECHER & BENNETT FLATOW FUNERAL HOME, 48 Cook Ave., Meriden and at 10 a.m. at St. Mary Church, where a Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated by the Rev. Robert Roy. Burial will be in St. Boniface Cemetery. Relatives and friends may call Friday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
