Robert M. Soule

Robert M. Soule, 92 of West Haven passed away Sat., March 29, 2014 in Yale- New Haven Hospital, he was the beloved husband of Anne Mitchell Soule, father of Robert E. Soule of Branford and Janet (Ted) Francois of East Haven, grandfather of Daryl Soule of Florida, Brian Soule of Glastonbury, Kimberly (Dominic) Moscato of West Haven and Tara (Rob) Rapuano of Florida, great-grandfather of Dominic, Jocelyn, Tyler & Brooke Moscato and Julianna Rapuano. He is also survived by a nephew Charles P. Rush of Florida & a niece, Elizabeth Klencheski of MA. He was born in New Haven, Oct. 30, 1921 son of Gladys McNicol, foster son of Grace & Charles E. Rush of West Haven & foster brother of the late Charles G. Rush of Trumbull. He served in WW II in the 58th Fighter Group of the 5th Air Force in Australia, New Guinea, Dutch East Indies, Philippines and Okinawa. He retired after 30 years as superintendent of the Yale University Art Gallery. He was an expert restorer of antique tools and maker of reproductions and a member of the Antique Tools and Trade In CT (ATTIC). Funeral service Friday, April 4 at 10 a.m. at BEECHER & BENNETT-TAYLOR FUNERAL HOME, 410 Campbell Ave., West Haven. Friends may visit with his family on Thursday from 5 - 8 p.m. Burial in Oak Grove Cemetery, West Haven.
