Robert R. Oertel
Robert R. Oertel, 88, of Evergreen Ave., Hamden wonderful husband to Dorothy K. Oertel for 66 yrs., passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 26, 2007. He was born in Meriden, April 7, 1919 to the late Eric and Anna Rasmussen Oertel. Besides his wife he leaves his brother Irving Oertel and was predeceased by his brother Donald Oertel. A graveside service will be held at Centerville Cemetery, Hamden on Thursday, June 28 at 11 a.m. BEECHER & BENNETT in care of arrangements. Memorial contributions in Robert's name may be sent to Grace & St. Peter's Episcopal Church, 2925 Dixwell Ave., Hamden, CT 06518.
Dear Dot, I am so sorry for your loss. I will not forget the twinkle in Bob’s eyes when he told me how you two first met. He saw you on the school bus and couldn’t take his eyes off of you! It was a sweet story and you two were a lovely couple. Rita made the announcement today at the Wednesday bridge session.
