Robert William Whiteman, 71, of Meriden, loving husband of Joy (Groetzinger) Whiteman, passed away on January 18, 2025. He was born in Elizabeth, NJ on October 7, 1953, a son of the late Edward Whiteman and Eleanor (Beltz) Whiteman. In addition to his wife Joy, Robert is survived by his sons Daniel and Jason Whiteman, his daughter Kaitlyn Whiteman and her fiancé James Pew, his brothers John Whiteman and Carl Whiteman and his wife Donna. He was predeceased by his brother Edward Whiteman. Robert honorably served in the United States Marine Corps and Marine Corps Reserves from 1970-1979. He worked for Ultra DNE Technologies as an electrical engineer technologist until his retirement. He was also a devoted member of New Life Church. Robert was known for his kind heart, loving hugs and his generosity. His pride of serving in the marines brewed a passion of history and shooting sports which he was always happy to talk about. Robert passed along incredible knowledge and wisdom which will forever be appreciated by not only his children but everyone that had the honor of getting to know him.

Friends are invited to visit with Robert’s family on Friday January 24, 2025, from 6:00-8:00pm at New Life Church, 350 High Hill Rd. Wallingford, CT 06492. A funeral service celebrating his life will be held on Saturday January 25, 2025, at 10:30am at New Life Church. Interment will follow in Walnut Grove Cemetery. Memorial contributions in his name may be made to New Life Church.
