Meriden- Rocco R. Gelonese, 83, beloved husband of Imogene (Weaver) Gelonese passed away on Wednesday, April 17, 2013. He was born January 16, 1930 in Meriden, a son of the late Vitorio and Mary (Agro) Gelonese. Rocco proudly served his country in the US Army, had worked for MRM Industries in Meriden until his retirement and was a longtime and active member of the Meriden Senior Center. In addition to his wife, Imogene, he is suvived by two sons David (Lorna) Gelonese Sr., of Maine, and Leonard (Gail) Gelonese of Wolcott, three daughters; Victoria (Fred) Church, Mary Rose (Kevin) Peck and Patricia Gelonese all of Meriden, and two sisters, Aleandra Komosa of Middletown and Phyllis Balogh of Florida. He also leaves sixteen grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a son Rocco Gelonese and a brother Diego Gelonese. A funeral servive will be held on Monday, April 22, 2013 at 10:30am at the Beecher & Bennett-Flatow Funeral Home, 48 Cook Ave, Meriden. Burial will follow at the Conn. State Veteran's Cemetery, Bow Lane, Middletown. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home on Sunday, April 21 from 2-6pm.
