Mead, Rose Griffiths In New Haven, Oct. 12, 2000, Rose Griffiths Mead, 91, wife of the late Kenneth Mead formerly of Eastern St. Born in New York City on February 11, 1909, she was the daughter of the late Harry and Matilda Umbricht Griffiths. Her life of service to the church included religious teaching, directing Vacation Bible Schools and prayer group leadership. Mother of Barbara Coulombe of East Haven and Richard Mead of North Haven. Sister of William S. Griffiths of Hollywood, FL, Walter Griffiths of New Haven, K. Andrew Griffiths of Key West, FL, Marian Griffiths of Lake Worth, FL, Shirley Jones of Miami, FL, Lorraine Murphy of Bristol, CT and the late George and Robert Griffiths. Also survived by 5 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. Funeral from BEECHER & BENNETT, 2300 Whitney Ave., Hamden, Tues., Oct. 17 at 9:15 a.m. to St. James Episcopal Church, 62 E. Grand Ave., New Haven for a funeral service at 10 a.m. Interment in Beaverdale Memorial Park.
