Roslyn H. Straus

Roslyn H. Straus, 93, wife of the late Henry Straus passed away Nov. 1, 2012 after a brief illness. She was born in N.Y., N.Y. March 30, 1919 a daughter of the late Nathan Hellman Jr., and Stella Stein Hellman and had resided in Hamden since 1953. Roslyn was employed at the West Haven VAMC as a Histologist, and was a member of Daughters of 1853-National Council of Jewish Women. She is survived by her daughter Barbara S. (Bruce) Meyer of Woodbury, NY, a son Roger (Anita) Straus of Bandon, OR, a brother Nathan 'Bud' Hellman, III of Los Angeles, CA, her grandchildren, Justin Meyer, and Seth Meyer, and her great granddaughter Carrington Stella Meyer. Mrs. Straus was predeceased by her twin sister Jane Bobbe. Graveside service of interment will be Tuesday (tomorrow) Nov. 6, at 12 Noon at Beaverdale Memorial Park, Sec. M. New Haven.
