In New Haven, Feb. 13, 2003 Roy E. Tripp, 78, husband of Cecelia Smith Tripp of 485 Wintergreen Ave., Hamden, father of Gillian E. Tripp of Hamden and Philip M. Tripp of Branford, grandfather of Colin Myles Tripp, brother of the late Frederick Tripp of Somerset, MA. Born in South Dartmouth, MA, March 22, 1924, son of the late Frederick and Eleanor Smith Tripp. He was a veteran of WW II US Air Force and was stationed in England with the 361 Unit Fighter Group of the 8th Air Force where he met his beloved wife. He worked for the former H. P. Hood & Son as an assistant Plant Manager. A member of The American Institute of Plant Engineers Chapter 54, Past President of International Maintenance Institute Chapter 141, member of Hiram Lodge #1, A.F. & A. M., V.P. of Connecticut Chapter of the 8th Air Force Historical Society, member of the American Legion Post #88 of Hamden. Funeral service at Grace and St. Peters Episcopal Church, 2925 Dixwell Ave., Hamden, Monday, Feb. 17 at 10 a.m.(Due to snow storm funeral rescheduled to Wed., Feb. 19) Friends may call at BEECHER & BENNETT, 2300 Whitney Ave., Hamden, Sunday, from 3 to 5 p.m. A Masonic Service by Hiram Lodge A.F & A.M. at 3:30 p.m. Contributions may be made to the Masonic Charity Foundation, PO Box 70, Wallingford, CT 06492.
