MERIDEN - Royce Cheney Todd, 79, of 45 Hawthorne Terrace died Tuesday, April 27, 2004, at MidState Medical Center. He was the husband of Phyllis Gibson Todd. He was born in New Britain December 4, 1924, a son of the late R. Cheney and Elsie Kreck Todd. He served in the U.S. Army in the European Theater during WW II. He worked as an accountant for Timex until his retirement in 1988. He was a member of the Center Congregational Church of Meriden where he served on the Diaconate, the Trustees and as Church Collector, was a member of the Institute of Management Accountants and was Treasurer of the A.A.R.P. Chapter 4644. Besides his wife, he is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Nancy and Paul Zalenski of Meriden; a son Christopher Todd of Wallingford, five grandchildren; Donald Eldred, Shawna Jakiela, Kristan Jakiela and Kaylie Zalenski, all of Meriden and Paul Zalenski of Springfield, Ma. He was predeceased by a sister Geraldine Bock. Friends may call Friday, April 30, 2004 from 7 to 9 pm at the Beecher & Bennett Flatow Funeral Home 48 Cook Ave., Meriden CT. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
