DeAlmo, Russell E. In St. Raphael Hospital, Sept. 28, 2007, Russell E. DeAlmo, age 80, of 12 Cumpstone Dr. Hamden. Husband of Elizabeth Walsh DeAlmo. Father of Sharon, her husband Bryan Hicks, Kathy, her husband Patrick Penrose all of Galveston, TX, Russell Jr, his wife Kathy DeAlmo, of Hamden, Edward DeAlmo, III of Fl. & Hamden & the late MaryBeth DeAlmo; Grandfather of Sean & Scott Clare, Hannah Hicks, William, Christopher, Kilcey & Andrew Penrose all of Galveston, TX; Brother of Vera, her husband Joseph DeAngelo, of North Haven & the late Barbara Friedlander. Several nieces & nephews also survive Russell. Born in Hamden on Oct. 19, 1926 he was the son of the late Edward & Elizabeth Morse DeAlmo. Russell was the owner & operator of the former Town Hall Auto Service Station on the corner of Whitney & Dixwell Ave. & the former DeAlmo's Atlantic Station on the corner of Whitney Ave. & School St. in Hamden. He also was the Service Manager of Weiner Motors in Stratford. He is a member of & Past Master in 1987 of the Mason's Day Spring Lodge # 30 AF & AM in Hamden & a 32 degree member of the Scottish Rite. Funeral Services will be held Wednesday at 10 AM in BEECHER & BENNETT, 2300 Whitney Ave. Hamden. Friends may call at the funeral home Tuesday from 5 to 8 PM. with Masonic Services held at 7 PM. Memorial contributions may be made to the Mt. Carmel Congregational Church- 3284 Whitney Ave. Hamden, CT. 06518 or to a charity of one's choice. My dad, Charlie, and Russ grew up together in Centerville and from the stories I heard from my Dad there is no doubt they were real good buddies.
