Ruth A. Froggatt, 96, a life-long Meriden resident, passed away on April 4, 2023 at Midstate Medical Center. She was the daughter of the late Charles and Alice Blythe Froggatt. Ruth is survived by her nephew W. Alan Froggatt and his wife. Deborah Lang Froggatt of Old Lyme, niece Candace Froggatt of Rocky Hill, and nephew Bradley Froggatt of Meriden, and Grant and Julia Briggs III of Woolwich, ME. She was predeceased by her brother Wilfred Froggatt, and by her longtime companion and partner Grant Briggs. Ruth was a graduate of Meriden High School and Larson Junior College. Upon graduating, she worked as an Administrative Assistant to the President of International Silver Co. in Meriden, as well as Executive Secretary at Insilco Corp. for many years until her retirement. She was also an avid member of the Meriden Ski Club, a faithful member at Center Congregational Church, and a dedicated volunteer at Midstate Medical Center and the Meriden Soup Kitchen.
A memorial service celebrating Ruth’s life will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, April 14th at Center Congregational Church, 474 Broad St., Meriden. Interment will be privately held at the convenience of her family.

Ruth was a wonderful gal, a delight to be with. She always had a story and a smile. We will miss her.
EVERYTIME I WOULD SEE RUTH, I WAS WELCOMED WITH A HUG & A KISS ON THE CHEEK. MY WIFE & I WOULD ALWAYS ENJOY WATCHING RUTH & GRANT BALLROOM DANCE WHEN WE WOULD GO DANCING.
I’LL MISS SEEING HER @ CHURCH. REST IN PEACE, RUTH…..UNTIL WE MEET AGAIN…..
So hard to put into words – Ruth was everything to us – a mom, a mother-in-law, a grandmother and a true friend! She was always a ray of sun. Forever in our hearts.

Ruth was a joy to know. I grew to know her better in the last few years, especially after we started our weekly Lunch group. I miss talking with her at church and lunch.

I am at a loss for words, Ruth was a wonderful person. She was my neighbor for 7 years. Such a sweetheart, very kind and always asking if I need anything. She will be missed dearly. My condolences to her family. Love always Miguel and Family.
Ruth was such a genuine kind hearted person we met both Ruth & Grant several years back they loved going to the Cherry Blossom Festival & listening to the big band love their stories & after Grant passed Ruth drove all the way from Meriden to Branford to sit & have coffee & conversation with us for a couple of hours she was so kind to everyone at times we worried about how trusting she was RIP our dear Ruthie you will be greatly missed ❤️
