Ruth Jean Fay

Ruth Jean Lowery Fay, was born in Mount Vernon, N.Y. on June 12, 1915 and died January 16, 2004 at Elim Park in Cheshire, CT. She previously resided at Hotchkiss Grove, Branford and on Yale Ave. in New Haven, CT. She attended Duke University and was married to her beloved husband, Frederick Taylor Fay for 67 years at the time of her death. In addition to being a homemaker, she was a Girl Scout leader for many years and was on the Board of the Mary Wade Home for the elderly in New Haven.She was a PEO in Chapter C, Hamden, CT. This sisterhood raises funds for womens educations-scolarships and loans. She is survived by her husband Frederick, her two daughters June Waddington of Darien, CT. and Louise Despres of Westport, CT. 3 grandchildren, Elizabeth Bernhardt, Heather Waddington and Frederick Despres and two great grandchildren, Catie and Cassandra Bernhardt. A Memorial Service is planned for Saturday, January 24, 2004, at the Spring Glen Church, 20 Glen Parkway, Hamden CT.at 11:00 am. Arrangements in care of BEECHER & BENNETT, 2300 WHITNEY AVE., HAMDEN.
