Ruth S. Colbourn, 93, of North Haven passed away on January 13, 2016 at her home. Beloved wife of the late Robert A. Colbourn, Ruth was born in Newark, NJ on March 19, 1922 daughter of the late Franklin and Mildred (Fowler) Wilson. Along with her husband, Ruth was very involved with the Free Masons and the Order of the Eastern Star. She loved to travel with Bob and enjoyed spending her free time doing crafts. Ruth is survived by her sister Helen Ivey, of Hamden and found great pleasure being involved in the lives of her nieces and nephews; grand nieces and grand nephews; and great-grand nieces and great-grand nephews. She was very thankful for the care given to her by Sarah, Douglas and Jonathan during her illness. Ruth is predeceased by her sister Mildred Stevens. Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Ruth's family on Sunday, January 17, 2016 from 2:00-5:00 p.m. at BEECHER & BENNETT FUNERAL HOME, 2300 Whitney Ave., Hamden. Ruth's funeral service will take place on Monday, January 18, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. in the funeral home with Rev. Doug House officiating. Burial will follow in Center Cemetery, North Haven.
