Meriden- Ruth (Wollenberg) Tozier, 89, died on April 12, 2017 after a battle with Alzheimer's disease. The eldest daughter of the late Adam and Adolfine Wollenberg, she was born on February 23, 1928 and lived her entire life in Meriden, graduating from Meriden High School in 1945. Ruth retired from the Travelers and Cigna Corporations after many years of dedicated service working in the Medicare claims division. In addition, she was a life-long member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, where she was a member of WELCA, the Altar Guild and taught Sunday School. She loved spending time with family and friends, gardening, collecting autographs and traveling. Ruth is survived by her two loving daughters, Cynthia T. McCarthy and her husband Kevin of Kensington and Lynn A. Tozier of Centerville, MA, her little sister Marilyn W. Kronenberger of Meriden as well as several nieces and nephews. Ruth was predeceased by her brothers, Wilfried Wollenberg Sr., Raymond Wollenberg Sr. and Richard Wollenberg. The family would like to thank the staff at The Village at Kensington Place, Meriden Care Center and Friends for Friends for their loving care. Ruth's funeral service will be held on Wednesday, April 19, 2017 at 10:30am at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 164 Hanover Rd., Meriden, everyone is asked to meet at church. Burial will follow at Walnut Grove Cemetery. Relatives and friends may call at the Beecher & Bennett-Flatow Funeral Home, 48 Cook Ave., Meriden on Tuesday, April 18 from 4-7pm.
