Salvatore Consiglio, age 83, of East Haven, passed away on July 1, 2018 in Madison House. Born in New Haven on October 25, 1934, he was a son of the late Vincent Consiglio and Josephine (Lucibello) Consiglio. A resident of East Haven most of his life, he was a retired custodian for the City of New Haven Board of Education. He was a very proud relative of Sally's Pizza and Consiglio's Restaurant in New Haven. He was an avid fan of boxer Rocky Marciano, as well as the NY Yankees and UConn basketball teams, and he loved to cook. Salvatore is survived by his daughters, Marcelle C. Redding of South Meriden, Gail Consiglio of Ashford, and Andrea Hussein of Tamarac, FL; sons, Salvatore M. Consiglio of Clinton and Thomas Consiglio of Delray Beach, FL; and grandchildren Tia Consiglio, Amanda Redding, Victoria Rotino, Anisah Alshiekh, Amina Hussein, and Dean Consiglio. Salvatore was predeceased by all of his siblings, Andrew Consiglio, Vincent Consiglio, Josephine Quartiano, Jennie Cognato, Anna Iazetta, Anthony Consiglio and Rae DeRenzo. Funeral Service will be held on Monday, July 9, 2018 at 1:00 PM at Beecher & Bennett Funeral Home. 2300 Whitney Avenue, Hamden. Entombment will take place in All Saints Mausoleum, North Haven.

  3. Our deepest condolences to kids and grandkids. My early childhood memories of Uncle Chick around my mother’ Lena’s table was telling many stories. Those stories continued during my adult life. He was a great story teller. Speaking to him just 3 days before he passed, he was anxious to get home. I was so surprised to hear such sad news.

    Salvatore was a very good friend of my brother Ralph. He became close to our family and often visited. He was a very good character and a good human being who also made us laugh, sometimes for hours. My prayer is for God to bring him to a just reward. Rest in peace Sal.

  13. Was a very decent and loving father. He loved his children very much. He would tell all the stories about growing up Italian. He loved pasta with meatballs , also escarole and beans.
