Samuel Alexander Loggie

Hamden- Samuel Alexander Loggie, 85, of 200 Leeder Hill Dr., formerly of Whitney Ave., husband of the late Helen Kosner Loggie, passed away Sept. 1, 2004 after a brief illness. Mr. Loggie was born in Windsor, VT, Dec. 12, 1918 a son of the late William J. and Katherine Schroff Loggie and resided in Hamden since 1958. He retired as a supervisor with the U.S. Post Office in North Haven. Mr. Loggie served in the US Army during WW II in the South Pacific and was a communicant of St. Rita Church. He is survived by many nieces and nephews, and a sister-in-law, Julia Loggie of Hamden. He was predeceased by 2 sisters, Mary Halligan, Josephine Altham and 2 brothers William J. Loggie and John L. Loggie. Funeral from BEECHER & BENNETT, 2300 Whitney Ave., Tuesday, Sept. 7 at 9:30 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. Rita Church at 10 a.m. Friends may call at the funeral home Tuesday from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. Entombment in the St. Lawrence Garden Mausoleum.
