Sandra C. Hurlburt Quiles, 68, of New Haven passed away January 11, 2022 after a brief illness. She was born in New Haven December 11, 1953, a daughter of the late Milten K. and Flora Spaulding Hurlburt. Beloved mother of Lisa DeLeon Pagan and her husband Edward Pagan, Sandra M. DeLeon, Sondra A. DeLeon Yanza and her husband Galo Yanza, Kristine L. DeLeon, and Kezlyn M. Quiles. Loving sister of Dianne I. Hurlburt, Kenneth R. Hurlburt, David S. Hurlburt, Flora E. Soto, and Russell D. Hurlburt, and the late Kenneth M. Hurlburt and Dennis M. Hurlburt. Sandra is also survived by 9 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, her nieces and nephews, and her ex-husband Ruben Quiles.
As we say see you later to our beloved mother, we know she will be by our sides until we’re all united together again. Our mother was a spunky, generous, loving, beautiful and strong woman who succeeded at a lot of tasks in her life, but her best accomplishment was being our mother. Through the years she worked several jobs and also became a foster parent. A few of her favorite things in life were the love for and from her two fur babies Teddy and Bella, crocheting, country music, spending holidays with family, baking holiday cookies, and eating a great meal with a side of ice chips. Sandra and her sister Dianne lived together, in which they formed a very close bond and cared for each other dearly. One thing we will never forget about our mother is her big baby blues, and that no matter how she felt she always had a big, beautiful smile for us.
Friends are invited to visit with Sandra’s family Saturday morning, January 15th, from 8:30 to 10:00 a.m., at which time a Rememberance Service will be held at BEECHER & BENNETT, 2300 Whitney Ave., Hamden. Interment will follow in Beaverdale Memorial Park.

  11. My deepest sympathy will go out to the family with all my prayers, I never got to meet any of my cousins my mother was Edna Anna Hurlburt, the only cousins I have met was Jeffrey and Denise.

  12. To Lisa and family, I’m so sorry to hear about the loss of your mom. She and Joe were VERY good friends of my mother and father from Grand Avenue, many years ago before any of you were born.

Although the last time I saw Sandy, she was living on Clay Street & you and your sisters were her life. In the Webster dictionary, they should put a photo of Sandy & cross reference the word Mother Because she was the mother that was looked up to buy all. I remember you and your sisters had an 8 PM curfew (regardless of if it was a school night) & were in the house by 8x You and your sisters were always well mannered, well respected and it exemplifies Sandy the way she was.

My prayers are with you and your sisters, always know that Sandy will always be looking at you from above

  13. To all my cousins I am So sorry, Prayers to the entire family.
I know that Heaven is rejoicing in her presence.
She will be forever in your hearts.

  14. To my sisters deeply sorry for your pain the heavens received a beautiful gift .. she will always be in your hearts , so keep the memories fresh and always remember To smile that’s what she would have wanted . Love you guys still praying for the healing of your hearts 💕
