Sang Soon Kim Yun

Mrs. Sang Soon Kim Yun, 91 of Hamden passed away Tues., Nov. 21, 2000 following a short illness. She was born in Kyung-sa-do, Korea, and was educated at Ewha Women's University. She came to the United States in 1937 for graduate studies in Early Childhood Education at National College of Education and Columbia University. With her husband, Rev. Eung Pal Yun, they pastored the Korean Methodist Church and Institute in New York City from 1945 to 1966. She also taught Korean language at Yale University in the Department of Far Eastern Languages from 1945 to 1968 and later worked in Sterling Library's Asian Collection. She leaves her daughter, Grace Yun of Hamden and her son Dixon Yun of Boston. A Memorial Service will be held Friday, Nov. 24 at 7 p.m. at BEECHER & BENNETT, 2300 Whitney Ave., Hamden. The funeral service will take place on Saturday, Nov. 25 at 10 a.m. at the New Haven Korean Church, 42 Glen Parkway, Hamden.
