Sharon B. Krischtschun, age 82 of Hamden passed away January 16, 2025. Sharon was the widow of Oscar Krischtschun. Born in Hamden on May 19, 1942, she was a daughter of the late Louis & Helen (Manacchio) Burness. Sharon is survived by her daughter Deborah Mallozzi & her husband Michael, her son Kenneth Krischtschun & his wife Holly; her grandchildren Matthew Mallozzi (Carolynn), Kevin Mallozzi (Melody), Andrew Mallozzi, Miles Krischtschun (Maisie), Erika Sipperly (Dan) & Jaclyn Krischtschun & her fiancé (Todd Schroeder); great grandchildren Jade, Heidi, Knox, Jack, Simon, Harper & Vivian. Sharon is also survived by her sisters Kathy Burness Duffy, Carole Pleines & her husband Richard, Barbara Wolff & her husband Perry. Sharon was predeceased by her beloved daughter Pamela Krischtschun and her sister Patricia Burness. She is also survived by a host of other relatives and good friends.

Sharon married Oscar in 1960 and they raised their family in Hamden. She retired in 2005 from Yale University after many years as an executive assistant. She and her husband Oscar owned and operated the former Hans & Fritz Deli in Farmington where Sharon continued to work after her retirement. A resident of Hamden all her life, Sharon was always there to help a relative or friend, often as the loving caregiver to family members in their time of need. She also enjoyed spending time with her grand & great grandchildren. Sharon loved all cats and dogs, and would take care of stray and feral cats at her home. She will be missed by her pet cats, Terra & Laura.

Friends may visit with her family at Beecher & Bennett Funeral Home, 2300 Whitney Ave, Hamden on Wednesday, January 22, 2025 from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. Her Prayer Service will begin at 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home followed by her burial in Centerville Cemetery, Hamden.     The fun capturing all the cats. How many we rehomed the fun we had waiting at night to capture and have neutered and spayed . We were a great team.
