  1. My deepest sympathy to Sherman’s family and friends. I regret that I will not be able to be at the memorial service due to my own infirmities but I will hold you all in my heart in remembrance of the man I knew best as a little girl. Wiry and tan, with bright, crinkly eyes and a very wide smile, he seemed to enjoy life and his family. While my travels overseas since 1964, and setting up residence in Virginia separated me from my Connecticut family, I saw him every now and then and have always wondered how he managed to have gotten the .slender. gene in our family. How I had envied that recessive gene of his! I did not know Sherman as well as I would have liked. Please regale me with thoughts and memories of him for my Family Geneology Workbook. My condolences and love, Barbara

  2. To the Stiles family, I was sorry to hear the news about Mr S. My Mom and Dad told me on Sunday. To Ken, Dave, Brian and Kathleen, Condolences to all. Lots of memories of your Dad, he was a good guy! Guys,I remember when we all first met, I’m pretty sure your Dad was burning your field behind our house. It’s not the same with the firehouse there now. To Mrs Stiles My heartfelt condolences go out to you. Thank you for putting up with all the times I came to your front door during your supper. My thoughts and prayers are with all of you in this time of sorrow. Tom
