Silvina Ramos, 87, of Meriden, wife of the late Antonio Ramos, passed away on July 9, 2021 at Apple Rehab-Coccomo in Meriden. Born in Vega Baja, Puerto Rico on January 1, 1934,  a daughter of the late Cruz Oquendo and Felicita Valentin. She is survived by her daughters; Yolanda Ramos-Garcia (Ramon) of Puerto Rico, Norilsa Ramos (Robert Rodriguez) of Meriden, Marycruz Ramos of Meriden, sons; Antonio Ramos (Lucy) of Hamden, Luis Ramos (Nancy) of Wisconsin, Eduardo Ramos of Meriden, and Elvis Ramos (Fanny) of Florida, and many brothers, sisters, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, extended family and dear friends. Silvina said she did not like her name and preferred to be called Margo. The family complied with her wishes. She was always sweet, pleasant, had a great sense of humor and wit. Her favorite little music catch phrase was “para bailar la bamba” and this would make the family laugh.  In her younger years, she and her husband ran a local restaurant. She enjoyed cooking, playing with her grandchildren, attending family picnics and parties especially during the holidays, and would enjoy her small sip of coquito. She had a constant big smile on her face and she will forever be missed, never forgotten and always loved till the end of time.

Friends are invited to visit with Silvina’s family on Tuesday, July 13, from 5:30-7:30 p.m. in Beecher & Bennett-Flatow Funeral Home, 48 Cook Ave. Meriden.  A pastoral service will be held at 7:30pm.  Interment will be private at the convenience of her family.
