HERSHATTER-SAARS, SYLVIA S. In Branford , September 15, 2006. Sylvia Seigel Hershatter-Saars, formerly of 111 Park Street, New Haven. Predeceased by her husbands: Louis Hershatter and William F. Saars. Sylvia was born in New Haven, CT on November 28, 1907, daughter of the late Jacob and Freda Shapiro Seigel. She was the owner of the Acme Printing and Mailing Service, a direct mail advertising company . She is survived by nieces: Rhoda Hershatter of New Haven, Brenda Hershatter Friedler of Stamford and Beverly Brody of Rockville, MD, Sandra Epstein of Naples, FL and Barbara Levine of Atlanta, FL, nephews, Attorney Richard Hershatter of Long Boat Key, FL and Clinton, CT and Jack Kitavitz of Hamden. Predeceased by a nephew, Milton Hershatter. Funeral Service will be held at BEECHER AND BENNETT, 2300 WHITNEY AVE. , HAMDEN on Monday, September 18, at 1 P.M. Memorial Contributions can be made to a charity of one's choice.
Aunt Silvia will always be remembered for her passion for living and for her compassionate caring of Uncle Bill. The Lane family – brothers, children and grandchildren – – send their deepest sympathies.
Silvia is deeply loved by all of us at the New Haven Towers 111 Park Street where she lived for over 40 years….I was very close to her and will miss her coming into the management office to tell me how nice my hair color was…and all the good advice she gave me about marriage…I love her and will miss her deeply… Love You Silvia, from your friend Debbie ( New Haven Tower office manager) (I promise never to go to sleep mad at my husband)…!
