Thail Coleman King
Thail Coleman King, age 91, of Hamden, passed away on February 20, 2015. Thail was the widow of Edward T. King. Born in Hamden on June 25, 1923, she was the daughter of the late John M. & Dorothea Shields Coleman. Thail is survived by her daughter Moira King McCormick & her husband Kevin of Hamden; her son John C. King & his wife Barbara of North Haven; grandchildren; Trisha, Jeffrey, & Andrew McCormick and William Varney, and one great-grandson, Aiden Luce. She was predeceased by her brother, Thomas E. Coleman. Thail was a School Crossing Guard for many years for the Hamden Police Department. She attended Miss Porters School for Girls, she was a member of DAR, Mary Clapp Wooster Chapter and the Daughters of Founders and Patriots. Thail's family would like to thank the staff at Hamden Healthcare Center for their many years of care and compassion. Friends may visit with her family at Beecher & Bennett Funeral Home, 2300 Whitney Ave., Hamden on Monday from 5:00-8:00 PM and may attend her Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated on Tuesday at 11:00 AM in St. Joan of Arc Church, 450 West Todd St., Hamden. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association Walk to End Team, HHCC Moira, CT Chapter, 2075 Silas Dean Highway #1100, Rocky Hill, CT 06067.
