Theodore (Ted) Robert Flowers, 82, of Mt. Carmel, Hamden, died on Monday, January 4, 2010 at Gaylord Hospital. He was the beloved husband of 57 years to Eleanor Flowers. Born in the Bronx, December 6, 1927, son of the late Dr. Hiland and Dorothy Flowers. Mr. Flowers served with the U.S. Army Occupational Forces in Japan, following World War II. He received a B.S. degree from Trinity College in Hartford, class of 1950, and a B.E.E. degree in 1951 from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, where he was elected to Tau Beta Pi, Eta Kappa Nu, and Sigma Xi. He worked as a development and project engineer with various Connecticut firms in house ware appliances. He was a lifetime member of IEEE and was a registered Professional Engineer. In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Brian, of New Haven , and a daughter, Mandy, of San Bruno, CA. He was predeceased by two sisters. Funeral Services by BEECHER & BEECHER, 2300 Whitney Ave., Hamden , CT will be private. Memorial contributions may be sent to a charity of the donor's choice.
