Theodus Staggers
Theodus 'Teddy' Staggers, was the husband of Annie Hall Staggers. Born in Kingstree, SC on July 13, 1946, he was the son of the late James Sr. and Bessie Nelson Staggers. He was the father of Cord, Adrian, Jermaine, Marcus (Cheryl) and Gerald Staggers; brother of Willie, Joseph (Carrie), Bennie, James (Carol) Staggers, Emma Ruth Cox and Annie Bell McGee. Teddy also leaves 6 grandchildren and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his son Troy and brothers Nehemiah and Frank Staggers. Teddy was a Vietnam veteran, devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother and son; he cared for his family very much and worked hard for them. He was employed at Pratt & Whitney Aircraft as a machinist for over 40 years and worked up until his illness. In his spare time he enjoyed fishing, cooking, watching sports and old western movies. He regularly participated and assisted in annual family functions, such as the 'Staggers Family Reunion' and the 'Staggers Dance'. He enjoyed gathering together with his family and entertaining with cookouts, fish frys and Super Bowl parties. Teddy was so tender and kind; such a good man, always going out of his way to help someone. Truly a teddy bear, he was so lovable and will be deeply missed.
Dear Staggers Family, I am very sorry for your loss. What I remember most about Mr. Staggers is EVERY week no matter rain or shine he would get his coffee, newspaper & bring home Annie flowers like clockwork…I think even if she made him upset he would still come home with her bouquet! I know you all miss him dearly. Sending my love from Georgia…Melissa
I would like to send my condolence to Teddy’s family and pray for God to strengthen you in your time of bereavement. Teddy and I was co-workers at pratt & whitney and he was a very humble man.
