Thomas E. Jepson

Thomas E. Jepson, 69, of Meriden, passed away on July 30, 2024. He was born in Newton, MA on November 28, 1954, a son of the late Robert and Eva (Kren) Jepson. He is survived by his brother Stephen Jepson.

Early in life, Tommy was a true boy scout of Troop #1 in Meriden where he lived by the 12 Scout Laws. As a boy scout he enjoyed camping at Deer Lake in Killingworth, and even went on a two-week excursion to Philmont Scout Ranch in New Mexico, a scout dream.

After graduating from Wilcox Technical High School in 1974 and Waterbury State Technical School, he went on to work for his father at CE Maguire. He also worked at Northeast Datacom, and CSC Security Company before retiring.

As an extremely caring and dedicated person to the ones he loved the most, Tommy spent seven years caring for his mother who had fallen ill during his working career. His mother, Eva, instilled in her family the love for travel. When Tommy was younger, he was fortunate enough to stop at and pass through forty-five of the fifty states, ten foreign countries, and went on four cruises through the Atlantic and Caribbean.

He was also a member and had many friends in the Masonic community, mainly Meridian Lodge #77, where he served as Worshipful Master in 1997.

Tommy was an avid Red Sox fan, but he loved all sports in general. He enjoyed skiing, boating, softball, and watching UCONN basketball. He was a master at backgammon, cribbage, scrabble and several other card and board games.

Besides his brother/best friend Stephen, Tommy will be missed by his friends Olin and Ella Richie, Dane Vechitto, the Kuhn’s who he worked with at CSC, and Stephen’s ex-wife Cindy.

Tommy will be remembered for his caring and compassion which he carried through all principles of life.
