Born in: Lakewood, Ohio
Resided in: Hamden, Connecticut

Thomas Edward George, 67, of Hamden, passed away at his home on December 25, 2024 after a courageous battle with cancer. He is survived by his wife of 21 years, Christine Teague George.  Tom was born in Lakewood, OH on January 20, 1957 to the late Edward T. and Madelyn Shia George.

He began his college years at the University of Texas in Austin before graduating with his bachelor’s from UCONN in pre-med biology.  He went on to follow in his father’s footsteps, enjoying a long career in computer science, developing software and working on several projects over the years.  When not working, he enjoyed playing his guitar and listening to the Beatles.  Walking daily was a must for Tom.  In addition to his love for walking, he loved going to the gym. Spring was a special time for him as he prepared his famous vegetable garden. Family was very important to him, especially in his role as a father.  Being a dad was the most important thing in his life.

Besides his wife, Tom will be lovingly remembered by his children, Anthony (Caleigh) Teague, Noah George, Lilah George, and Henry George; siblings, Stephen, Gary (Sue), Christopher (Marci Brennan) George; beloved by his family, Lawrence Teague (Barbara), Carlos Belo (Kelly), Patrick Teague (Melissa) and Terrence Teague (Jessica) and many nieces and nephews.

Friends may visit with his family on Monday, December 30th from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Beecher & Bennett Funeral Home, 2300 Whitney Ave, Hamden.  A Funeral Service will continue at 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home followed by his burial in All Saints Cemetery.

  6. Tommy was our nephew/first cousin on our father’s side of the family. During the time that he attended the University of Texas at Austin, he would regularly come to our home for Saturday lunch with our paternal grandmother. Our mom Claire and we sisters (who were six or more years younger than him) fondly remember his warm personality, good looks, strong muscles, and humor. We did not see Tommy very much after he moved back to Connecticut but those Saturday dinners spent with him when we were all young made a lasting impression on us. We were extremely shocked and saddened to hear of his passing. May he enjoy God’s eternal presence.

Our deepest condolences to Christine, the children, and all his family.

Claire, Monica, Adrienne, Sylvia, Claudia Jessica, and Ramona

  7. Patti and Sara saw Tommy and his brothers about two years ago when they visited Aunt Madelyn. They loved seeing Tommy, Steve, Gary & Chris, as they laughed and joked together. We Hage cousins were delighted to hear that they had remained close. The George boys took excellent care of their mother just as they did their father, Uncle Eddie.

We remember Tommy when he first came to Austin to attend the University of Texas. Always working out, he was in excellent shape and blessed with a remarkable sense of humor. After Tommy left Austin, he returned to the East to meet the beautiful love of his life, Christine. She brought such happiness and joy to him, and their lives together were blessed with four wonderful children, Anthony, Noah, Lilah and Henry.

Tommy was a force of nature! He had the best attributes of an oldest child, for he was perceptive, positive and intelligent. He was a favorite of everyone’s, and we will think often of his handsome face and amazing smile.

    Rest peacefully, precious Cousin!

    Jennifer, Robin, Charlotte, & Patti
