Trifomena Cretella
Trifomena Cretella, 91, passed away on Sunday, November 20, 2011 at Arden House in Hamden. She is survived by her son Anthony F. Cretella of Hamden, 4 grandchildren, Anthony, Trina, Briana and Russell, 3 great-grandchildren, Anthony, Michael and Vincent, a brother Louis Ruocco of Hamden and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by 2 brothers and 3 sisters. Mrs. Cretella was born in New Haven July 27, 1920, a daughter of the late Anthony and Lucy Ruocco and resided in Hamden since 1953. She worked as a waitress at Howard Johnson's Restaurant until retirement and was a member of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel and later Blessed Sacrament Church. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. Funeral from BEECHER & BENNETT, 2300 WHITNEY AVE, HAMDEN Friday, November 25 at 10:30 am. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Blessed Sacrament Church, at 11 am. Friends may visit with the family Friday from 9:30 to 10:30 am in the funeral home. Interment in St. Lawrence Cemetery, West Haven. Contributions in her memory may be made to the Alzheimers Association, South Central Connecticut Chapter, 2911 Dixwell Avenue, Suite 104, Hamden, CT 06518.
Hello, I think I worked w/ your Mom in the early ’70’s at Howard Johnson. She was a very dedicated employee. I was 16+ and I remember one snow storm/blizzard that we had your Mom got into work by flagging down the snow plow driver and got them to take her to work!! What a lady!!! I just loss my mom this year and I know how hard it is to loss your Mom. Enjoy your memories, Cheryl
