Vera Fedoronko Skopic
Vera Fedoronko Skopic died peacefully in New Haven December17, 2013, at the age of 95. A member of the Academy of Certified Social Workers, Mrs. Skopic was a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania, and received a Masters degree from the Columbia University School of Social Work. She was employed for many years at Danbury Hospital as a case worker in various medical departments. She was a faithful member of Holy Transfiguration Orthodox Church, and of the Ladies Auxiliary. Mrs. Skopic is survived by her daughter Barbara S. Sivigny, her son Theodore J. Skopic, her grandson Robert W. Sivigny, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents Rev. Joseph and Sophia Fedoronko, and by her four siblings and their spouses, Orest (Anne) Fedoronko, Daria (Alvin) Roegge, Rev. Alexander (Mary) Fedoronko, and Nadia (William) Allen. Christian Burial Service will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, December 21, 2013 at Holy Transfiguration Orthodox Church, 285 Alden Avenue in New Haven. Calling hours will precede the service, from 9:00 to 10:00 AM at church. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery. Arrangements are in care of BEECHER & BENNETT, 2300 Whitney Avenue, Hamden.
