Veronica P. Magyar, 92, beloved wife of 69 years to the late Joseph E. Magyar, Sr. passed away June 10, 2010 after a brief illness. She was born in Bridgeport, CT. Sept 28, 1917 a daughter to the late James and Barbara Kurovics Ivan. Mrs Magyar is survived by her children, Barabara Allen of Milford, Joseph Magyar Jr. and his wife Christine of Orange, James Magyar and his wife Karen of Medfield, MA., grandchildren Alisa Saracin, Kristin Albanese, Corey Nassef, Katherine Marchessault, Sarah Magyar, Matthew Magyar and 10 greatgrandchildren. She is also survived by her sister-in-law Helen and her husband Enrico Pavoni of Fairfield, sister-in-law Elizabeth Magyar of Fairfield and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brother James Ivan and sister Mary Svab-Kovacs. Veronica grew up in Bridgeport where she raised her family and was employed as assistant manager of the Lobby Shop in Bridgeport Hospital. She was a member of St. Ambrose's Parish and served as President of the Madonna Guild. In 1979 after retirement, they moved to Boyton Beach, FL. In 1996, they returned to CT to live in Hamden. For the past 6 years Ronnie was a resident at Arden House. The family wishes to express its deep gratitude to the staff for their many kindnesses while caring for her. A Memorial Mass will be held in St. Rita's Church, Whitney Ave., Hamden, Monday, June 21 at 10 a.m. Internment will follow in St. Michael's Cemetery, Stratford.
