My condolences to the Erlich family. Victor Erlich was a great philologist, Slavicist, and scholar. I never met him, but his books and his example as an academic meant a great deal to me and to many others.
To Victor’s family, Victor Erlich was a truly great man in every sense of the word: as a scholar, teacher, and human being. I feel so fortunate to have known him and been his graduate student. I’ll always remember his gentleness and humor. My thoughts are with you on this loss of a giant. Susanne Fusso
