Vincent J. Kelleher
Vincent J. Kelleher, age 100, of Hamden and Guilford, entered into rest eternal Saturday, July 5, 2014, at The Guilford House. He was the beloved husband of the late Freda Meyers Kelleher and loving father of Carol Kelleher of Guilford. 'Uncle Vinnie' is also survived by many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his siblings, Margaret Urban, Sister Joseph Theophane Kelleher of the Sisters of St. Joseph, and Thomas J. Kelleher. Vincent was born in New Haven on Aug. 16, 1913, a son of the late Thomas and Margaret Whalen Kelleher. He served in the US Army during WWII. Vincent was a graduate of the Gemological Institute of America. He was a Vice President at the former Spector's Jewelers of New Haven, where he was employed for 46 years. He lived in Hamden and Guilford most of his life where he was a parishioner of the Blessed Sacrament Church in Hamden and St. George Church in Guilford. He was a former member of the Knights of St. Patrick and an avid sports fan, enjoying Nighthawks Hockey, baseball, football and basketball. Friends are invited to attend his Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated Friday, July 11th at 11:30 a.m. in St. George Church, Guilford. Interment will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, Hamden.
