Viola A. (Catapano) Piscatelli, age 90 of Hamden passed away February 8, 2025 at Yale New Haven Hospital / St. Raphael Campus. Viola was born in New Haven on April 19, 1934, a daughter of the late Joseph and Theresa (DePino) Catapano. Viola was the widow of Robert J. Piscatelli, Sr; beloved mother of Rose Trickett of Hamden and Robert J. Piscatelli Jr. and his wife Dawn of Cheshire; grandmother of Matthew Piscatelli, Stephen Piscatelli, David Trickett Jr., Daniel Trickett Sr., and Derick Trickett; great grandmother of Daniel Jr., Stanley, Ellie, and Colton. Viola also leaves her beloved sister-in-law Virginia Catapano, her caregiver Linda Cicarella and a host of nieces and nephews. Viola was predeceased by all her siblings, her twin sister Josephine Laudano-Picone, Ann Davis, Madaline Casale, Virginia Amarone, Tony Catapano and Andrew Catapano.

A resident of Hamden most of her life, Viola at one time worked at First National Store and was a cafeteria worker in the Hamden School System. In her early years she enjoyed roller skating and dancing. She loved to play bingo and visit the casinos in Connecticut. Viola was very close to all her family and always seen by all as a social butterfly. Viola was a member of the Divine Mercy Columbiettes of St Paul’s Parish and a Eucharistic Minister in Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church in Hamden for many years.

Friends may visit with her family on Tuesday February 11, 2025  from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Beecher & Bennett Funeral Home, 2300 Whitney Ave, Hamden and may attend her funeral on Wednesday at 9:30 a.m. from the funeral home with her Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. at St. Paul the VI Parish / Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, 2819 Whitney Ave, Hamden. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Hamden.
