  1. Gone but never forgotten!! Even from across the pond. You will always be missed and in our thoughts everyday. Love you so much xxxxx

  2. Remembering Vi: Those of us who were brought up in England before and during The War, and later came to live in the United States, were fortunate to gather at meetings of the local Transatlantic Brides and Parents Association (TBPA) where we would share our common heritage. Vi was a treasured member of the Association, always bringing to the gatherings her special brand of Geordie humor, her quick wit and her generosity. The Christmas dances were especially memorable. Vi and Gordon were keen decorators of the dance hall where the English strutted their stuff. It was our privilege to have known Vi over the years, and to have been reminded of a special time in the history of our homeland. Fulwell Mill is a well-known landmark near Sunderland; we can imagine a young Vi playing in the fields around the Mill, and later working in the area as a member of the WLA. With thoughts of a wonderful person, Frank and Pamela Firk 2nd July, 2013.
