Violet Bailey, 75,of 6 Navarro Rd., East Haven, wife of Robert E. Bailey Sr. died March 7, 2003. Mother of Charlotte Mattei of Branford, Carol Bailey-Hernandez of East Haven and Robert Bailey Jr. of California, grandmother of Robert Bailey III, Lori Bailey, Kelly Mattei and Shannon Bailey-Hernandez, great-grandmother of Breanna and Jordan Bailey. She was predeceased by two sons Charles M. and Russell Bailey and a granddaughter Maryanne Bailey. Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, March 12 at Christ Church, Broadway , New Haven, at 10 a.m. Friends may call at BEECHER & BENNETT, 2300 Whitney Ave., Hamden on Tuesday from 4-8 p.m. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Edwin Gould Services for Children, 41 East 11th St., New York, NY 10003.

You are my Grandma on the East Far away, but part of me You came to visit as did I We rolled on roller skates throughout the day, as other Grandma\’s watched in shock as you became engaged with me I travelled when I was a teen to be by your side all day through, you teased me for the humidity as I lay on your couch tired and free You and Grandpa spoke about as I watched your love continue on Today I sit, a day before your wake and hope for your strength through the day I only wish I knew you more my lively Grandma, piercings, freedom and all Your love of life has taught me much Your hand in mine, angeled blue eyes will remain with me, till I travel myself to your new home Heaven awaits my dear Grandma I promise to see you soon in hopes of knowing your spirit true!!
