Violet Matilda Spearman at the age of 86 entered into eternal rest peacefully on January 10, 2015 surrounded by her loving family, in Santa Anna, CA; she was born April 8, 1928 in Courtland, VA, daughter of the late Charles Clyde Barham and Clora English Barham. She was educated in the New Haven Public School System, and worked as a Domestic Worker and Hotel Laundry attendant were she retired from many years ago. She was pre-deceased by her husband Nathan Spearman and Eleven siblings, Roscoe James 'Buddy' Barham, Virgie Mary Williams, Elise Lee Deloatch, James Vernell Barham, William 'Henry' Barham, Lloyd 'Teeny ' Leonard Barham, Mattie 'Mac' George Creach, Charles Clyde Barham Jr., Frank A Barham, John Ralph Barham, and Melvin Barham. She was also pre-deceased by four half siblings Freddy Marvin Blackwell, Lowell Douglas 'Dougie' Barham, Josephine Barham, and Wilma Connie 'Dumpy Barham. She is survived by one daughter Eileen Spearman of Hamden, CT, two sons Stanley Spearman (Dorothy) of Santa Anna, CA; Isaac Spearman (Debra) of Norwalk, CT; Nine grandchildren and six great grandchildren; one half-sister Charlotte Blackwell of Jersey City, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends. She was a devoted and loving mother, grandmother, and great- grand mother who loved life to the fullest. Who will be forever remember as a very strong woman, determined to make sure her children were raised with deep rooted family values. She was loved by many children in the New Haven community, lovingly referred to as 'Stubs' by her son Isaac and 'Vi 'by the rest of the family. Violet will be greatly missed by all.
