Walter Everett Clark, 96, of St. Augustine FL, died peacefully on Friday, December 2, 2016. He was the husband of 71 years to the late Jeanette Clark. Known as Buster or “Bus” to his parents, he was born December 12th, 1919 in Brooklyn, New York the son of the late Walter & Karin Clark. From an early age, Walter found joy in painting and music. An accomplished mandolin player, he loved to play for family and friends. Walter and his beloved Jean were married on April 4th, 1943 in “the little church around the corner” in New York City. After relocating to the sleepy town of Newtown CT, their family quickly expanded with the birth of their son Vaughn and then two years later their daughter Deanna. Walter’s professional life started at Sikorsky Aircraft as a master scheduler and then as a local real estate agent. The lure of Florida’s weather drew Walter and Jean to retire to the charming city of St. Augustine in 1988. Retirement was kind to the dapper couple who spent their twilight years enjoying their passions of art, music, and classic films. Walter was predeceased by his son Vaughn E. Clark. He is survived by his daughter Deanna Trupp and his 6 grandchildren; Jason Clark, Joshua Clark, Jessica Harris, Ashley Cirullo, Chris Trupp and Kim Walker, and daughter-in-law Nancy Clark. He is also survived by his 9 great grandchildren who would have loved him greatly. Friends are invited to attend a graveside service celebrating Walter’s life on Saturday May 20 at 1pm in Eastside Cemetery, Woodbridge, CT.
