Walter 'Pep' Christian Pethick

In Hamden, July 22, 2004, Walter (Pep) Christian Pethick aged 90. Born in Mt. Vernon, NY on September 16, 1913, a son of the late William and Louise Dibbern Pethick. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Evelyn (Evie), son Richard (Dick), and brothers Albert and William Pethick. All who knew him were touched by his kindness and selflessness. Walter is survived by his daughters, Patricia and her husband Charles D'Agostino of North Haven, Lynn Centrone of Florida, and his daughter-in-law, Catherine Pethick of East Haven, 10 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. He was a loving husband, father, father-in-law, grandfather and great-grandfather. Walter was co-owner of Tom & Walter's Meat Market in Madison and worked for the Guilford Food Center for several years. He loved the Yankees and as a young man, played semi-pro football for the Lenox AC in New Haven. He continued to enjoy sports through his grandchildren and great-grandchildren and attended their football, baseball, soccer, and hockey games and dance recitals. He will be remembered for his generosity and encouragement after each event.
