Wayne F. Gdovin, 69, of Meriden, passed away peacefully on September 23, 2017 at Masonicare Health Center. Born in Meriden on January 19, 1948 to the late Michael and Helen Soboslai Gdovin. For 48 years, he was the beloved husband to Cynthia Logan Gdovin. During the late 60's he proudly served in the US Army while stationed in Korea. After he came home he persued his passion and became a lifelong carpenter. He was also an active member of American Legion Post #45. Besides his wife, he leaves his three children, Wayne F. (Heather) Gdovin Jr, Susan Lynn (James) Nazarenus, and David J. Gdovin; grandchildren, Hailey, Justin, Cody, Logan, Braelyn, Brian, and Samuel; great-grandchildren, Peyton and Jordyn; siblings, Patricia Gdovin and Gary Gdovin and several nieces and nephews. Predecased by brothers, Michael and Edward Gdovin. Friends are invited to visit with the family at BEECHER & BENNETT-FLATOW FUNERAL HOME, 48 Cook Ave Meriden, from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 26th. His Funeral Service will take place on Wednesday at 10:00 a.m. in the funeral home. Burial will be private.

  1. On behalf on the American Legion Auxiliary, Unit #45 we extend our deepest sympathy to the Gdovin family. Wayne was a strong supporter of the ALA and will be greatly missed.

  2. On behalf of our daughter Ashley and her husband George, as well as Dennis and myself, we offer our most sincere condolences and deepest sympathy to your family at this difficult time. We are so grateful to have had the opportunity to get to know Wayne and could not have asked for a better neighbor. He will be so missed by us all.
