Wilburta S. Huber

MERIDEN- Wilburta S. Huber, 98, daughter of the late Eva Schwink Huber and Wilber C. Huber, passed away on Wednesday, October 25, 2017. She worked for 40 years at S.N.E.T., retiring as manager of the Operator Services department. Wilburta was a member of the First Baptist Church of Meriden. She had many interests, including photography and travel. She was one of a kind and ahead of her time, from biking to work to designing her own home. What brought her the most joy were her nieces, nephews and their families: nephews, the late Jack A. Huber and wife Nancy of Wallingford, Keith Huber and wife Nancy of Canton, Markand Thakar and wife Vicky, and Tertius Thakar; nieces, Kathy Huber Bolt and husband Dean of West Hartford, Sheri Huber Carlomusto and husband Stephen of Cranston R.I., Kobie Thakar DeVito and husband Dr. Anthony of Pelham, N.Y.; great nieces and nephews Leah and Iris Carlomusto, Sarah Burns and husband Jeff, Seth, Evan, Jennifer, Rebecca and Kate Huber, Kelly Bolt and husband Brett, Chris Bolt and fiancé Kelly Gehlhaus and Justin DeVito. She was predeceased by brothers Will H. Huber and Jack E. Huber and wife Aileen, and a sister, Dr. Betty Huber Thakar. ‘Burta’, as she was known by her family, will always be remembered for her generosity, dedication and kindness to her friends and family. At Ms. Huber’s request there are no calling hours. A private graveside service will be held at the convenience of the family. Beecher & Bennett-Flatow Funeral Home, Meriden is assisting the family with arrangements.
