Wallingford - William A. Maronde, 94, formerly of Laurel View Park, husband of the late Mary Page Chapin Maronde passed away on Tuesday, September 28, 2004 at Masonic Healthcare Center. He was born October 17, 1909 in Meriden a son of the late Albert and Amelia (Priebe) Maronde. Bill worked for many years at the Department of Agriculture, he left there to work for Hamilton Standard and then as a salesman for Newton-New Haven Co. in North Haven until his retirment. He also worked part-time for Flatow Funeral Home and then Beecher & Bennett-Flatow Funeral Home. He was Past Master of Masonic, Meridian Lodge #77, A.F. & A. M., past patron of the Meridian Lodge OES and past president of the New Haven Past Masters Association. He also served as director of the Masonic Temple Foundation for many years. The family would like to thank the staff of Wooster 2 &3 at Masonic Healthcare Center for their love, care and kindness over the past 10 years. Bill is survived by three step-daughters, Mary Lou and her husband, Vincent Cappette of Meriden, Elaine and her husband, Paul Munzu of East Haven, and Sharon Chapin of Virginia Beach, VA, a step-son Paul and his wife, Valerie Cook of Plainville, nineteen step-grandchildren, many step-great-grandchildren as well as many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by three brothers, Howard, Arthur and Walter Maronde and four sisters, Hazel Lohman, Mildred Frobel, Edna Gehrke and Gladys Dilleway. Funeral service Friday, October 1 at 11:00 a.m. at Beecher & Bennett-Flatow Funeral Home, 48 Cook Ave., Meriden. Relatives and friends may call Friday, from 10-11a.m. A Masonic service will be held at 10:30 a.m., all members are asked to attend. Burial will follow in Walnut Grove Cemetery.
