William ''Bill'' F. Putnam, Sr., William ''Bill'' F. Putnam, Sr., 42, of Meriden, died Thursday, March 14, 2002 at Yale New Haven Hospital after a long illness. Born in Meriden, Nov. 11, 1959, he was the son of Wallace and Jean Putnam of Berlin. He was employed by Tony's Trucking of Wallingford and was formerly the owner of Putnam Concrete Company. Besides his parents, he is survived by his companion, Grace Panetta and three children, William Putnam, Jr., Jamie Putnam and Joshua Putnam. He also leaves behind his two sisters, Sandra Roy and her husband, Daniel of Quebec, Canada and Kathleen Gudelski and her husband Paul of Salisbury, MD and his two brothers, Michael Putnam of Meriden and Steven Putnam of Berlin. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews whom he loved dearly. He will be deeply missed by his family. Funeral services will be held Monday, March 18 at 9 a.m. from BEECHER & BENNETT FLATOW FUNERAL HOME, 48 Cook Ave., Meriden and at St. Mary's Church at 10 a.m. Burial will be in St. Boniface Cemetery in Meriden. Family and friends may call Sunday, March 17 from 2 p.m. - 4 p.m. If desired, contributions in Mr. Putnam's memory may be made to the Leukemia Society, 300 Research Parkway, Suite 310, Meriden, CT 06450. Bill's family would like to extend a very special thanks to the staff at Yale New Haven Hospital on the oncology floor for their excellent care and support during these most difficult times.
