William 'Bill' M. Stacey, 51, passed away suddenly at his home in Branford on January 6, 2014. Beloved husband of 25 years to Wendy Steinbrick Stacey. Born in Barranquilla, Columbia on November 15, 1962 to Dolores Jimenez Stacey of Wallingford and the late Albert Stacey. Besides his wife and mother, Bill leaves his two children, Jordan Stacey of New Haven and Olivia Stacey of Branford; his cherished grandson, Nate Stacey; siblings, Helen Pittman and her husband Kenny of Hamden, Albert Stacey of Wallingford, and Amalia 'Myle' Johnson and her husband Demetrius of Hamden; nieces, MacKenzie and Jaelynn Pittman of Hamden; aunt, Rosa Merva of Stratford; cousin, Joseph Merva of Stratford. Bill graduated in 1980 from Hamden High before attending Purchase College State University of NY. He went on to graduate with the first nursing class from Gateway, and was the only male in his class. After becoming a registered nurse, Bill worked in the Emergency Department at Yale and presently at Bridgeport Hospital. As much as he loved his job, his passion was art. Bill was a great painter and photographer. A photo of his was selected for an exhibit in New York and his work can be seen at www.williamstaceyfineart.com. He was a huge Giants football fan, but Bill's number one love in life was his family. Friends may visit with his family at BEECHER & BENNETT, 2300 Whitney Ave, Hamden, on Thursday, January 9th from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. A Memorial Mass will be Celebrated on Friday, January 10th at 11:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church. Burial will be private.
