MERIDEN - William "Bill" Everett Brown, Jr., 91, formerly of Devon Court died Monday, Oct. 8, 2007, at Skyview Convalescent Home in Wallingford. He was the husband of the late Marjorie Elizabeth Burghoff Brown. Born in Everett, MA on Nov. 21, 1915, he was the son of the late William Everett and Anna Lundberg Brown, Sr. Until his retirement, he was employed for 35 years at New Departure. He was a lifelong member of the Yalesville Methodist Church and was involved in many of the church's activities. He sang bass for many years in the church choir which he truly enjoyed. He is survived by three daughters, Sandra Eglise and her husband, Charles of Parsonsfield, ME, Phyllis Rigby of West Hartland, CT and Martha Brown of Lancaster, PA; a son, William E. Brown III of Meriden; four sisters Marion Trinkaus of Deep River, Ruth Warren of Windsor, VT, Elizabeth Shaut of New Britain and Joyce Leslie of Sequim, WA; a brother, James Brown of Cheshire; six grandchildren, David Eglise, John Rigby, Diane Eglise, Sarah Rigby, Natalie Brown and William E. Brown IV, four great-grandchildren, Amber Eglise, Ashley Eglise, Soren Rigby and John Carter Rigby; two sisters-in-law, Eleanor Brown and Nancy Brown, a brother-in-law, Dennis Shaut and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by three brothers, Franklin Brown, Robert Brown and Charles Brown, two sisters, Grace Skinner and Margaret Loomis. He was also also predeceased by brothers-in-law, Fred Trinkaus, Tom Leslie, Wendall Warren and George Loomis and a sister-in-law, Lorraine Brown. William was a loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather who will be deeply missed. The family would like to thank Skyview Center's staff for the special care given to their father while he was at the nursing home. Also a special thank you to Dr. Fumo for his kindness and gentleness at the nursing home and thank you to Dr. Tsai whom their father knew for many years and admired. The funeral will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 10, at Yalesville United Methodist Church The Rev. Eric Fjeldal will officiate. Relatives and friends may call from 9 to 10 a.m. at the church prior to the service. Burial will follow in Walnut Grove Cemetery. If desired, contributions in Mr. Brown's memory may be made to the Yalesville United Methodist Church, 8 New Place St., Yalesville, CT 06492. Arrangements are under the direction of the Beecher and Bennett Flatow Funeral Home, 48 Cook Avenue, Meriden.

  2. To the Brown Family: I have fond memories of Mr. & Mrs Brown babysitting for me after school during my early days in Yalesville. As an adult and his neighbor on Jeralds Avenue, Kathy and I will always remember the chats we had in the front yard, his warm smile and friendship.
