William F. Willis
Meriden- William F.Willis, 71 passed away on Tuesday, June 17, 2008. He was born May 20, 1937 in Mineola, NY, a son of the late Robert and Helen (Klecker) Willis. He was the owner of M. Wilder & Sons in Meriden until his retirement. Bill is survived by two daughters, Marie Teresa Willis of Belmont, MA, and Ann Marie and her husband Paul Pulisz of Wallingford, one son, Darren and his wife Julie Willis of Bakersfield, CA and two grandchildren, Renee and Jonathan Pulisz. He is also survived by a sister, Loretta Ferrari and three brothers, Robert, Daniel and Matthew Willis of NY. The family is having a private service. The Beecher & Bennett-Flatow Funeral Home, 48 Cook Ave., Meriden has been entrusted with the arrangements.

I was glad I got to see old Bill a few weeks ago in Wallingford. We had some great times at the old .Bradley Dinner. when Gail and He were there every day. Anyone who was a customer will remember the laughter, the banter and the occasional group sing along. Bill did a great rendition of .My Grandfather’s Clock. and He knew the words and names of very many old tunes. He loved making up his own jokes and would chortle to himself after telling one while shuffling along with the plate of food. I am glad I was fortunate enought to share these times with him over those years and create such fond memories. I just forwarded a bunch of pictures I took of him to Gail a few days ago. One memorable one is the .employee of the year award. photo that we posted on the wall of the diner. He was really a good sport about such things. Well, I guess he will be telling his jokes and bantering on another level of existance now. I am sure he will have an appreciative audience. All the best to you Bill!–Augie
To the Willis Family, Leroy was my uncle Bill’s brother. Bill’s wife Judy was my Aunt and my Father’s sister. I talked to Leroy in the summer of 2012 and talke3d about the family and the location if he knew of my cousin David. If anyone knows where David is,please contact me. My prayers go out to the family.
