William James Martin

In Wallingford, Feb. 13, 2001, William James Martin of 65 Masonic Ave., formerly of Honor Rd., West Haven, husband of the late Helen Flury Martin. Father of Shirley M. Modena of Wallingford and her husband Michael Modena, Jr. Grandfather of Tiffany H. and Meredith E. Modena of Wallingford. Predeceased by two brothers Andrew and Nicoll Martin. He was born in New Haven, Oct. 14, 1924, a son of the late Andrew and Anne Barkley Martin. He retired as a clerk from the New Haven Post Office in 1986. During WWII he served in U.S. Navy. Funeral service will be held at the Masonic Home, Wallingford, Friday, Feb. 16 at 11 a.m. Friends may call at BEECHER & BENNETT, 2300 Whitney Ave., Hamden Thursday from 4-8 p.m. Burial will be in Beaverdale Memorial Park, New Haven.
