William 'Ed' Kuehlewind, Jr. of 150 Cook Hill Rd., Cheshire, passed away peacefully January 29, 2008. He was the husband of Ethel E.Hasfurter Kuehlewind; father of Richard E. (wife Linda) Kuehlewind of Wallingford, Kenneth E. (wife Sharon) Kuehlewind of Cheshire & William R. (wife Donna) Kuehlewind of Harleysville, PA; brother of Grace Muffoletto of Darien Center, NY, Pearl Johnson & Don Peters both of New Port Richey, FL. Ed also leaves 11 grandchildren & 2 great granddaughters. Born in Cheektowaga , NY on Sept. 12, 1921, he was the son of the late William E. & Gertrude Haller Kuehlewind Sr. Ed was a retired Chemical Engineer for Humphrey Chemical Co. of North Haven. Prior to that he was involved in research for American Cyanamid & Olin Corp. Before he resided in Cheshire, Ed was a resident of North Haven, CT and Western New York. He was in fellowship with West Woods Bible Chapel, a member of the Missionary Committee and Christian Service Brigade leader. Funeral Service will be held Saturday at 10 AM in BEECHER & BENNETT, 2300 Whitney Ave., Hamden Friends may also call at the funeral home Friday from 6 to 8 PM. Burial will take place in Hillside Cemetery, Cheshire. Memorial contributions may be made to West Woods Bible Chapel Missionary Fund, 165 Hillfield Rd., Hamden, CT 06518 or to WIHS- Connecticut Radio Fellowship, 1933 South Main St., Middletown, CT 06457.

  1. Dear Aunt Ethel & Family My thoughts & prayers are with you all, he sure will be missed. He is in a better place now, we all have great memories of this great guy. For me is when we went some where with Uncle Ed he had his camara by he side, we all had to put smiles on our face. We didn’t know when he would take our picture. When my family came up to vist we had great meals with the Kuehlewind’s then at the end of the meal we would have our gravy bread, that Uncle Ed showed me.   2. So sorry to hear of Ed’s passing. I think he was my grandfathers brother Ewald and other brother Otto. Don’t know what happened to the family back then but was never able to met many of the Kuehlewinds on that side of the family. Our prayers are with you all. Mike & Ellen Kuehlewind
