Willie J. Scott, 84, husband of Joyce Hargrove Scott of Dixwell Ave., Hamden, passed away Sun., Feb. 6, 2005 in Yale New Haven Hospital after a long illness. He was born in Taylor, TX, a son of the late Roscoe and Imogene Davis Scott and resided in New Haven for 10 years before moving to Hamden in 1987. He was a stationary engineer in NJ, building superintendent and custodian for the Schiavone Reality Co. Mr. Scott served in the US Army during WW II. Besides his wife he is survived by his children, Gladys Scott of NYC, Keith Scott of NJ, Stacy Powell of NYC, Teena Jenkins of Kennesaw, GA, Eugene Scott and Brenda Scott both of Orlando, FL, Carlisle and Daryl Scott both of VA, William ''Skip'' Skinner of Sayerville, NJ and J.B. Scott of FL, a sister, Lorene Jefferson of Taylor, TX and nieces; Barbara Hamilton, Doris Franklyn, Judith Henderson all of TX, Brenda Smalls and Kelly Lawson both of NY. He is also survived by 8 grandchildren, and several grandnieces and grandnephews. He was predeceased by a son Roscoe Scott, sisters, Doris Waller and Bertha Russell. Funeral service Sat., Feb. 12 at 11 a.m. at BEECHER & BENNETT, 2300 Whitney Ave., Hamden. Friends may call Sat. from 10 - 11 a.m. Burial in Centerville Cemetery.
