Winifred F. Trutnau Winifred Frances Trutnau, 86, beloved wife of 58 years of Frederick O. Trutnau of Shepard Ave. passed away Oct. 21, 2011 in Masonic Healthcare after a brief illness. She was born in New Haven June 30, 1925 a daughter of the late Eugene and Edna Hirsch Kretz and had resided in Hamden since 1963. She was a devoted member of Christ Lutheran Church, the Lutheran Church Women, and Alice Chap. # 76 O.E.S. Winifred and her husband were long time members of NCT-National Camping Travelers. She was a fan of the UCONN women's and men's basketball teams, and the NY Yankees. She was ready anytime to play a game of cards. In addition to her husband she is survived by her children, Paul F. Trutnau of Berkeley, CA., Ellen T. Strange of Reading, PA., and Christopher E. and his wife Laura Trutnau of Wallingford. She is also survived by her loving grandchildren Jason & Lauren Strange and Caitlin & Kara Trutnau, a niece and 2 nephews. She was predeceased by her brother Eugene Kretz. Friends and relatives may visit with her family on Tuesday, Oct. 25 from 4-8pm at BEECHER & BENNETT, 2300 WHITNEY AVE, HAMDEN and are invited to attend a Memorial Service on Saturday, Oct. 29 at 11 am at Christ Lutheran Church. Contributions in her memory may be sent to the Christ Lutheran Church, 600 Shepard Ave, Hamden, CT 06514.

All the conferences, Lutheran Church Women meetings, coffee together at Duchess Diner on Monday nights, our trip to Washington DC for the national Lutheran Women’s Tricentennial, visits to the Lutheran Home in Southbury. I will also miss your unbelievable memory; you never forgot anything. I will never forget you, Winnie. See you some day.
